New Genesis G70 features a 10.25-inch infotainment system

Published

on

Genesis is a luxury car maker with several models in its line. The automaker says that the new Genesis G70 lines all of its existing models with its current Athletic Elegance design philosophy. The vehicle has leading safety features and a driver-focused interior. One of the more interesting interior features is a 10.25-inch infotainment system that can receive wireless over the air updates.

The images seen here are the first look at the G70 ahead of its on-sale date in Korea next month. The automaker says the vehicle is a luxury sport sedan with an athletic design, dynamic driving performance, and leading safety features. It received the IIHS Topic Safety Pick+ designation.

The outside of the vehicle is redesigned with a signature crest grill set lower than the Quad Lamps that spread outward. Genesis says the design evokes a sprinters pre-race posture and highlights the car’s position as the most athletic sport sedan in the Genesis line. The car has side air extractors that are optimized for efficiency.

On the back of the car are Quad Lamp taillights inspired by the wings of the Genesis logo. The rear also has full-width G-Matrix mesh and body-colored diffusers surrounding the oval exhaust tips. The interior is meant to resemble a fighter jet cockpit and features the new 10.25-inch infotainment system mentioned before.

The infotainment system has an exclusive Genesis UI design that supports over the air updates via Wi-Fi, Valet mode, and Apple CarPlay. The wireless phone charging system is updated with a horizontal layout for more convenience for users with larger phones. There is no mention of the engine power rating in the Genesis announcement. The vehicle is expected to be available outside of Korea.

This iPhone Bug Is Deactivating Phone Numbers. Here’s What We Know So Far

Published

To remove and replace a physical SIM card, all you’ll need is the SIM tool that came with your iPhone. It’s a tiny pin tool, and it’s entirely possible that you never removed said tool from its original box when you first purchased the device. In any case, you may want to make sure you’re doing this after you have a replacement SIM card in your possession to avoid any interruption in service.

Once you have a new physical SIM card in your possession, you’ll need to know what your phone’s EID number is. Any T-Mobile representative will likely ask you for this information, and you can locate it by navigating to Settings -> General -> About on your iPhone. From here, scroll down to the bottom of the page to find your iPhone’s unique EID number, and a T-Mobile representative should be able to activate a new SIM card with ease.

T-Mobile offers a set of troubleshooting instructions for those who are experiencing difficulties with their eSIM cards on various Apple devices, including iPhone. T-Mobile suggests that you should ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS (currently 15.4.1) before you attempt to do anything with your physical SIM card or digital eSIM service. T-Mobile also suggests that you’ll need an unlocked phone, or a phone purchased directly from T-Mobile.

Mark Gurman also reported via Twitter that you can delete your eSIM account and create a new account from scratch. This is a process that you may want to do with some oversight from a T-Mobile representative since there’s always a chance that you can mess something up on the service side.

The Real Reason Canada Is Banning Huawei Technology

Published

on

In an official statement, Canada’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, Francois-Phillipe Champagne mentioned that the move ensures the long-term safety of the country’s telecom infrastructure. The decision was made after “a thorough review by our independent security agencies and in consultation with our closest allies,” says the statement.

The Canadian government claims to have conducted an extensive examination of 5G technology and arrived at the conclusion that — despite its benefits — the next-gen cellular technology opens the doors for new security threats. The government has raised concerns that Huawei and ZTE could be forced by the Chinese government to engage in activities that are not in Canada’s best interests. In the past, Huawei has repeatedly denied the claims of being influenced by the Chinese government and even has a dedicated 5G myth-busting resource page on their official company website.

China, on the other hand, has opposed the ban, claiming that it will take all necessary steps to ensure the well-being of Chinese companies. “We will take all necessary measures to safeguard the legitimate interests of Chinese firms,” foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin was quoted as saying by Reuters.

The Most Expensive NFTs Ever Purchased

Published

on

One of the earliest examples of an NFT collection on the Ethereum blockchain, CryptoPunks have grown to be among the most valuable collections in the world. They are a set of 10,000 unique, algorithmically-generated “Punk” characters that, according to their creators Larva Labs, served as the inspiration for the ERC-721 standard, an interface that now powers that majority of Ethereum-based NFTs. A CryptoPunk’s value is determined by the rarity of its attributes: the rarer the attributes, the more valuable the NFT.

CryptoPunk #5822 is one of the rarest of all, which explains its incredible selling price. Firstly, it has just one attribute, a feature that only 2% of the collection shares. That single attribute is a bandana, which is rare in itself, as only 5% of the collection sport one. The Punk’s skin type is alien, which is the biggest factor in pushing up this NFT’s value, as only 0.09% of the collection share this skin, a total of 9 NFTs out of a collection of 10,000. Punk #5822 was bought by Deepak Thapliyal, CEO of blockchain tech company Chain, for 8,000 ETH, roughly $23.7 million USD at the time of sale.
